Signature Title
Simple Animated Signature (page 1 of 4)
( no writing tool )

This tutorial will explains how to create the necessary frames for a simple animated signature. A second tutorial for adding a writing tool to the animation will be added at a later date.

If this is your first time at doing an animated signature, I suggest that you read the entire Intro page before following this tutorial.

  1. With Photoshop open, start a new image,
    1. set the Width to 260 and Height to140. (You can always crop to size later.)
    2. set the Resolution to: 72 pixels.
    3. set to Mode to: RGB.
    4. set the Contents to: White. (You will be deleting the white background later. I generally use this white background for better viewing while working on sig.)

  1. Add a layer to begin your first letter.
    1. Click on the new layer icon located on Layers palette. (see red cursor in figure to the right)

  1. See your new layer.
    1. Your palette should now look like the figure to the right.

  1. Type Tool:
    1. From your Tools palette, select the Type Tool (see red cursor in figure to the right)

  1. Type Options:
    1. In the tool options bar, select "Create a mask or Selection" icon. This will give you the "marching ants" instead of a filled text. (see #1 in figure to the right).
    2. Select the font you want to use. A thick font works best. (see #2 in figure to the right)
    3. Select the font size. (see #3 in figure to the right)
