Create A Seamless Cloud Tile
Using Photoshop

Part 2 - Create Texture Fill
This is part 2 of the tutorial. Please note that you will be using the tile you created in Part 1 previously named "cloudtile.psd". Below are the instructions for creating your new Texture Fill.

Since the graphics on this page are fairly large, I have split the page for faster download. This page will have Steps 1 thur 6. Be sure to continue Steps 7-9 on the next page to complete this tutorial.

I have divided the tutorial into 3 parts. Part 1-Create the Seamless Cloud Tile. Part 2-Create the Texture Fill. Part 3-Apply the Texture Fill.

  1. With your Cloud Tile still open, create a duplicate image:
    1. From Photoshop menu choose: Image > Duplicate
    2. In the dialog box, name the duplicate image as: "cloudtexture.psd"

  1. You image should be similar to the tile on the right. Don't worry, your tile has not disappeared. We will need to do a level adjustment to bring it back into focus.

  1. If you are using Photoshop 6:
    1. From the Layers Palette, click on the "Create new fill or adjustment layer" icon. Circled in red to the right.
    2. then select "Levels".

  1. You can move the point triangles as shown on the right or enter the following values into the "Input Level" boxes: 204, 1.00, 255.

These settings are typical. Adjust the level setting to suite your image.
